Habitat for Humanity of Omaha first opened its doors in 1984. Since that time we have built or renovated over 190 homes in the Omaha community, and impacted the lives of many families. Habitat is not a charity or a give away program. In addition to a small down payment, selected families must invest 350 hours of “sweat equity” into building their homes and the homes of others. They then repay the full cost of the house through an affordable, interest-free loan (usually around $89,000).

This year 16 new families will get the chance to have their dream of homeownership come true. Generous gifts given by our charitable partners create opportunities these families would not otherwise have, and allows Habitat for Humanity of Omaha to "build hope, build faith, and build communities." We sincerely thank our partners in realizing the mission of Habitat for Humanity of Omaha in our More Than Houses capital campaign.
